> How MetricRaven shows revenue from several currencies in one: the reporting currency, ECB daily rates, and what happens when a rate is missing.

Customers pay in their own currencies. MetricRaven keeps each payment as received and converts it into one reporting currency when it builds a report, so totals, charts and ROAS add up.

## Choose the reporting currency

1. **Open Settings → General → Reporting currency**

**Automatic** uses the currency most of your payments are in. Pick a currency to fix it for everyone who views the site.

2. **Look at another currency for a moment**

The dashboard toolbar's globe button shows the reports in another currency without changing the setting. The choice is kept in the page address, so a copied link opens in the same currency.

## Which rate is used

- Payments convert at the European Central Bank reference rate of the payment's UTC day. On weekends and holidays the previous business day's rate is used.
- Refunds convert at their payment's rate, so net revenue stays consistent.
- MRR, ARR and live subscriptions are current state, so they convert at the latest published rate.
- Lifetime value converts each payment at its own day's rate, over every payment a customer ever made.
- Ad spend ([Meta Ads](https://metricraven.com/docs/meta-ads)) converts from the ad account's currency per day, so ROAS compares like with like.
- Stored payments keep their original amount and currency; nothing is rewritten.

Under the Revenue chart, a note says how many payments were converted and from which currencies. Each recent payment shows its original amount and the rate date on hover.

## When there is no rate

The ECB publishes rates for about thirty currencies. A payment in a currency it doesn't cover, or on a day with no table for more than ten days, can't be converted. It is left out of converted totals rather than guessed, and the Revenue tab names it ("Not included: 3 payments in ARS"). Pick that currency with the globe button to see those payments on their own. Ad spend without a rate is listed the same way under the ad table.

## Details

- Reports API calls take `?currency=EUR`; without it they use the reporting currency. Every report with a period returns `period.fx` with the converted and excluded currencies ([Reports API](https://metricraven.com/docs/reports-api)).
- Amounts round to the currency's minor unit (no decimals for JPY, two for USD).
- Provider-specific notes: [Stripe](https://metricraven.com/docs/stripe) reports captured amounts before fees, with refunds deducted.
