MetricRaven vs Pirsch: Pirsch alternative

Pirsch facts last checked · sources

Pirsch is a privacy-friendly analytics tool from Germany. It works without cookies, keeps your data in a German server cluster, and has some features you rarely see at its price: a built-in URL shortener, A/B testing with tags, webhooks, traffic spike alerts and extensive white labeling.

MetricRaven is built around a different question: which channels bring paying customers? Pirsch can total revenue you send as event metadata on its Plus plan. MetricRaven connects to your payment provider directly on every plan, imports your payment history and credits each payment to the visit that first brought the customer.

Pricing compared

Pirsch has two self-serve plans priced by monthly page views. At 10k, Standard is $6 and Plus is $12 a month; at 100k they're $12 and $27. Custom events and 10% of session extensions count toward the limit. Yearly billing costs ten times the monthly price. Every plan has unlimited members and unlimited data retention; Standard covers 50 websites and Plus is unlimited. Funnels, A/B testing, segmentation and e-commerce revenue tracking are on Plus.

MetricRaven prices by events (pageviews, goals and payments): Starter is $9 a month for 10k and $19 for 100k, Growth $19 and $39. Yearly billing is also ten months' price. Revenue attribution, funnels and AI crawler reports are on both plans (pricing).

Choose MetricRaven if

  • You want revenue per channel, referrer and campaign without writing revenue events by hand (attribute Stripe revenue).
  • You want funnels that end in a real payment, on the entry plan (goals and funnels).
  • You want to see which AI crawlers read your pages (AI crawlers).
  • You want an official MCP server and CLI to query your numbers from your editor or terminal.

Choose Pirsch if

  • You want your analytics hosted in Germany by a German company.
  • You run many client sites and want unlimited members, white labeling and custom domains.
  • You want the lowest entry price and only need traffic numbers and goals.
  • You want a built-in URL shortener or tag-based A/B testing.

What Pirsch does well

  • Privacy and location. No cookies, no personal data stored, and data hosted on a server cluster in Germany.
  • Generous limits. Unlimited members and unlimited data retention on every plan, and 50 websites on Standard.
  • Agency features. White labeling, custom themes, custom domains, public dashboards and access links.
  • Useful extras: Search Console, traffic spike and warning notifications, webhooks, server-side tracking, a URL shortener, and imports from Google Analytics, Plausible and Fathom.
  • Open-source core. The tracking library is AGPLv3 on GitHub, although running the full product yourself needs an Enterprise licence.

What MetricRaven does well

  • Payments connected, not typed in. Read-only connections to Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle, Polar, RevenueCat and others, including refunds and subscriptions.
  • Revenue everywhere. Channels, referrers, campaigns, pages, countries and devices can be sorted by revenue, and Search Console keywords show estimated revenue (Search Console).
  • AI crawler reports. See requests from GPTBot, ClaudeBot, ChatGPT-User and others, by page, plus robots.txt and llms.txt fetches. They don't count toward your events.
  • Developer tools: an official MCP server, a CLI, a REST API and GitHub commit markers on the traffic chart.

If you need to know which channel actually makes money, MetricRaven does that with less setup: connect your payment provider and revenue appears next to every source, on every plan. Run both for a week and see which dashboard answers your questions.

Frequently asked questions

Is MetricRaven cheaper than Pirsch?

No. Pirsch Standard starts at $6 a month for 10k page views and MetricRaven Starter at $9 for 10k events. Pirsch puts funnels and revenue tracking on Plus, at $12 a month for 10k page views, while MetricRaven includes both on every plan.

Can Pirsch connect to Stripe?

Pirsch's docs describe tracking revenue by sending an event with the amount and currency as metadata, then adding a custom metric to a conversion goal. MetricRaven connects to Stripe directly with a read-only key and imports your payment history.

Where is my data stored?

Pirsch says all data is hosted on a server cluster in Germany. MetricRaven does not currently promise EU-only hosting, so if that is a hard requirement, Pirsch is the safer choice.
