MetricRaven vs PostHog: PostHog alternative
PostHog facts last checked · sources
PostHog and MetricRaven are different kinds of tools. PostHog is a product platform for engineers: product and web analytics, session replay, feature flags, experiments, surveys, error tracking and a data warehouse, priced per unit with a generous free tier. MetricRaven is a focused marketing analytics dashboard.
If you're choosing between them, the question is what you need to know. To see how people use your product after they sign up, PostHog does far more. To see which marketing channels bring paying customers, MetricRaven gets you there with less setup.

Pricing compared
PostHog's free plan includes 1M product analytics events, 5,000 session recordings and 1M feature flag requests a month, with one project and one year of retention. The pay-as-you-go plan has a $0 base, the same free allowances, six projects and seven years of retention; beyond the allowances you pay per unit, from $0.00005 an event, with no per-seat charges. Optional platform packages start at $250 a month.
MetricRaven has no free plan. It costs $9 a month for 10k events and $19 for 100k on Starter, after a 14-day trial with no card. For a small marketing site PostHog's free tier is hard to beat on price; MetricRaven's case is the revenue-by-channel view you'd otherwise build yourself (pricing).

What PostHog does well
- Breadth. Product and web analytics, session replay, feature flags, experiments, surveys, error tracking, a data warehouse and PostHog AI in one place.
- A large free tier with transparent per-unit pricing and no per-seat charges.
- A managed reverse proxy, free for PostHog Cloud users, plus US and EU (Frankfurt) hosting.

- Developer tooling: an official MCP server, an API and open-source code.

- Eight payment integrations plus a Payments API.
- Search Console in the dashboard, with estimated revenue per keyword (measure SEO revenue).

Can PostHog attribute Stripe revenue to channels?
