MetricRaven vs Fathom: Fathom alternative

Fathom facts last checked · sources

Fathom Analytics is a long-standing, privacy-first alternative to Google Analytics: cookieless tracking, a clean dashboard, every feature on every plan and at least 50 sites included. It's a solid choice for agencies and anyone running many small sites.

MetricRaven focuses on a different question: which channels bring paying customers. It connects to your payment provider, credits each payment to the visit that first brought the customer, and adds funnels that end in a payment.

Choose MetricRaven if

  • You want revenue by channel, referrer and campaign from Stripe or another provider, without sending values by hand (attribute Stripe revenue).
  • You want funnels that show where visitors drop off before paying (funnels).
  • You have a small site and want to start below $15 a month.
  • You want AI crawler reports and GitHub commits on your chart.

Choose Fathom if

  • You run many sites: Fathom includes at least 50 on every plan, with more for $10 a month per 50.
  • You want all features on every plan with no tiers to compare.
  • You want EU visitor data processed in the EU, or all traffic routed through the EU.
  • You don't need payment-provider connections.

What Fathom does well

  • Simple, flat pricing. One plan, priced by monthly pageviews, with every feature included and at least 50 sites.
  • Cookieless by design, so Fathom says no consent banner is needed.
  • EU isolation. EU visitors are processed in the EU by default, and an "Extreme EU Isolation" option routes all traffic through the EU.
  • AI traffic. An AI source groups referrals from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek, Grok and others.
  • Visible bot filtering. Bots are blocked by default, and a toolbar icon shows how many requests were blocked and why.
  • Useful extras: Search Console terms, milestones on the chart, shared dashboards, a GA4 importer and an Analytics API.

What MetricRaven does well

  • Payment connections. Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle, Polar, RevenueCat, Shopify, WooCommerce and Dodo Payments, with refunds and subscriptions.
  • Funnels that end in revenue. Chain pages, goals and payments in order (Goals & funnels).
  • Search Console with revenue. Keywords show estimated revenue, not just clicks.
  • AI crawler reports by crawler, purpose and page, plus an MCP server and CLI for asking questions from your AI assistant or terminal.
