Find where customers drop off with funnels
Find the one step that loses the most buyers, then fix that step first.
Updated · 1 min read
Visitors arrive, look at pricing, start signing up, and some of them pay. Somewhere along that path most of them leave. A funnel shows you exactly where, so you work on the step that loses the most people instead of guessing.
Why this matters
Improving the worst step of your funnel usually beats bringing in more traffic. If half of the people who start checkout never finish, more visitors just means more people dropping out at checkout.
Why most analytics tools can't tell you
Most analytics tools count pageviews and events separately, so you see how many people visited pricing and how many signed up, but not whether they were the same people, in that order. Payments usually live in a different tool, so the last step is missing.
How MetricRaven does it
MetricRaven funnels chain pages, goals, identify and payment steps in order. A step only counts when the same tracked visitor completed every earlier step, so the drop-off between steps is real. Because payments are part of the funnel, the last step is money in the bank, not a click on a buy button.

How to do it
- Track the actions that matter as goals: add
data-goalto buttons or call the JavaScript helper (Goals & funnels). - Send goals such as
signupfrom your backend once they really happen (Server events). - Connect a payment provider such as Stripe so payments can be a funnel step.
- Open Traffic → Funnel, choose Edit funnels and pick the steps in order, for example
/pricing,signup,payment. - Look for the biggest drop between two steps, then filter by channel or device to see who drops out.
