Attribute every channel
Track affiliate and partner revenue
See what each partner really sends you.
Updated · 1 min read
Partners, affiliates and friendly creators all send traffic your way. To thank them fairly, or to decide who to keep working with, you need to know who sent which customers and how much those customers paid.
Why this matters
A partner who sends a hundred visitors and three customers is worth more than one who sends a thousand and none. Clear numbers also make conversations easier: you can show a partner what their audience did instead of guessing, and agree on terms based on revenue rather than clicks.
Why most analytics tools can't tell you
Referrers often disappear on the way, for example from apps, PDFs or chats. Dedicated affiliate tools handle payouts, but they live apart from your analytics, so you can't see partner traffic next to your other channels.
How MetricRaven does it
MetricRaven records ref, via and source link parameters separately from UTM tags. Visits with a via parameter, or utm_medium=affiliate or partner, go into the Affiliate channel. Each tag value gets visitors and revenue, credited to the customer's first tracked visit.
Revenue by referral tag

How to do it
- Connect a payment provider so revenue is attributed to visits (Connect Stripe).
- Give each partner a link such as
?via=partner-name(Campaign & referral links). - Open Traffic → Acquisition → Campaign and choose Referral tag (ref/via/source).
- Sort by revenue, then click a partner to filter and see their visitors' pages and countries.
- Review the numbers with each partner every month, over the same period, so comparisons stay fair.
MetricRaven reports attribution, not payouts: it won't calculate commissions or pay partners. Export the numbers or read them through the Reports API to feed your payout process.
