Measure conversion rate by country
Find the countries where visitors buy, not just browse.
Updated · 1 min read
Traffic from some countries converts well. Traffic from others browses and leaves, maybe because of price, language, payment methods or simply the wrong audience. A country breakdown with revenue shows you which is which.
Why this matters
Country data helps you price, localize and target. If visitors from one country buy at five times the rate of another, that is where to run ads, add a local payment method or translate your pricing page. It also explains why your total conversion rate suddenly drops when a post goes viral in a country where people rarely buy.
Why most analytics tools can't tell you
Most tools show visitors by country but not purchases by country, because the payment happens in another system. Without the join, you can't tell a big market that buys from a big market that just reads.
How MetricRaven does it
MetricRaven derives an approximate location from each visit's IP address, and payments are credited to the customer's first tracked visit. Geography can be sorted by revenue, and Insights ranks countries by purchase rate: paying visitors divided by visitors, for countries with at least ten visitors.

How to do it
- Connect a payment provider and link payments to visitors (Connect Stripe).
- Open Traffic → Geography → Country and switch the sort button to revenue.
- Open Insights from the toolbar and read the country ranking by purchase rate (Buyer insights).
- Click a country to filter and see which channels and pages its buyers used.
- Compare a few months, not a few days: small countries move a lot from one sale.
If you use a proxy, forward the real visitor IP, or every visit will appear to come from your server's country (proxy setup).
