Measure revenue from Reddit
Find out if Reddit sends buyers or just readers.
Updated · 1 min read
One helpful comment in the right subreddit can send hundreds of visitors. Whether those visitors ever pay is another question. Reddit audiences are often curious, skeptical and allergic to marketing, so traffic alone says little.
Why this matters
Reddit takes real effort: reading threads, writing useful answers, earning trust. If Reddit visitors buy, that effort is worth it. If they read and leave, your time may be better spent on a channel that converts. Either way, you should decide with revenue, not upvotes.
Why most analytics tools can't tell you
Reddit visits show up as a referrer, but most tools stop at the visit. And the threads that mention you without a link, which still shape what people think, never reach your analytics at all.
How MetricRaven does it
MetricRaven records reddit.com as a referrer in the Social channel, with visitors and revenue credited to the customer's first tracked visit. On the Growth plan, a weekly search finds Reddit posts and comments that mention your domain or keywords and places them on the traffic chart next to the visits they brought.
Referrers: visitors and revenue

How to do it
- Connect a payment provider so revenue is attributed to visits (Connect Stripe).
- Open Traffic → Acquisition → Referrer and compare reddit.com's visitors with its revenue.
- Click reddit.com to filter and see which pages Reddit visitors land on.
- Add your brand words in Settings → Integrations → X and Reddit (X and Reddit mentions).
- Tag links you post yourself with
utm_source=redditand a campaign per thread (Campaign & referral links).
Reddit search is fuzzy, so mentions are kept only when the post contains your domain or a keyword as a whole word. Choose distinctive keywords.
